MENTORSHIP & TRAINING
We travelled to Ekumfi in the Central Region to meet with the chief and kinsmen on how to empower the young ladies in the town to set up their own businesses, no matter how small. We spoke about organizing training and mentoring sessions, where the young ladies can learn how to make soap, cook, bake, make beverages, etc. The meeting was crowned with a durbar and the young ladies danced and showed appreciation for the decisions that had been
taken on their behalf.
CULINARY TRAINING 1 & 2
We partnered with Kemly’s Culinary School on two occasion to teach our young ladies how to bake vanilla cake, meat pie, bread rolls, chinchin,etc. This really helped our young ladies. After the session, all the ladies could bake. The good news is that, through that training, some of the young ladies have started a business in that field
Financial Literacy Training
This training was done in collaboration with ‘Ellevate’ by Ecobank. The young ladies received
training on how to manage their finances as young business women. The head of Women’s desk
at Ecobank, Dr Loretta Sarpong, took the ladies through the opening of business accounts so
the funds of the young business women could be monitored so their start up capital is not wasted
through impulse buying
BENEFICIARIES
Our initiatives aim to bolster members within the network who are diligentlyworking within their own capacities but require additional resources tobroaden and enhance their businesses. Gifty Awuku, The Ceo of Nas Beads and Footwear and a valued member if the network, was fortunate to receive funding from the network, enabling her to significantly augment her production capacity. As a result she has successfully expanded her workforce by employing and training two additional individuals within her business
Meet Constance, one of the remarkable members of Awiba Network. Through the generous support of Awiba Network, she successfully completed her second cycle of education, receiving fully funded tuition and stipends. Now, she has an exciting opportunity ti intern with Jayiel Atelar, a renowned fashion designer, where she will enhance her skills and gain valuable industry experience in fashion design. Constance’s journey is a testament to the power of support and mentorship within our network.
Ms. Hawa, a mother of two and a housewife whose dreams once seemed out of reach, has been equipped to start her own business and take her first steps towards financial Independence through the support of The Awiba Network and Hon. Goosie Tnadoh, The Presidential Advisor on the 24 hour Economy.
Ms. Olivia, one of the determined ladies of Awiba Network, has also received essential items to kickstart her business journey through the support of the network and Hon Goosie Tanoh, The Presidential Advisor on the 24hour economy.
THe network with support from Nhyilaw Hair and Beauty Parlor gave Jennifer, one of the ladies in the network, a fully funded training in wig making and cosmetology as well as paid internship opportunity afterwards. This initiative
gives her the opportunity to learn a trade and earn a living.
The network has also support Hannah, a young women who once never dared to dream due to economic hardship. After being identified by the network, she was enrolled in Kemylls Culinary School for an 8-month professional training program, fully sponsored by the network. Through this timely intervention, Hannah’s days of unemployment and uncertainty has come to an end, paving the way for a brighter and more secure future.
